SANCTIFICATION Preparing To Record New Album

SANCTIFICATION, the Swedish death metal band featuring current/former members of GOD AMONG INSECTS, IN BATTLE and SOULDRAINER, has recruited Tony Laureano (DIMMU BORGIR, ex-NILE, ANGELCORPSE) to lay down the drum tracks for its upcoming CD. The recording sessions will take place this spring at the Abyss Studios in Sweden. A summer/fall 2008 release via Pulverised Records is expected.

Commented the group: "Things are moving along just fine in the camp and we are at the moment waiting for Tony to give us some more solid info on when he has the time to record this album. He is going on tour with DIMMU BORGIR so the recording is being pushed forward a bit but it is OK with us, we still have a few tunes to write so no rush. We will start to reherse the new songs in a week or so and see if there is any need for changes or so.

"Tomas [Elofsson, guitar] is at the moment rehersing GOD AMONG INSECTS song for the upcoming FINAL GIG at House of Metal festival in Umeå, Sweden. So after five years and two albums, GOD AMONG INSECTS will call it a day and go out on the battlefield for one last time. No more insects but there will be more Zombie metal...that is for sure as Tomas and Masse (DARK FUNERAL/GOD AMONG INSECTS' Emperor Magus Caligula; real name: Masse Broberg) will move on to outher battlefields with a new and fresh Zombie band. More info on that when the guys have something to report."

SANCTIFICATION parted ways with drummer Nils Fjellström last year due to "his busy schedule with DARK FUNERAL," according to a press release.

Commented the band: "The loss of Nils was a big one but this feels like a fresh start for us, and we are very happy and honoured that Tony wants to do this with us. He is a great guy and a fantastic drummer, so this feels absolutely awesome."

SANCTIFICATION's debut album, "Misanthropic Salvation", was released in 2003 through Remission Records.
